The wife of Donald Sterling, Rochelle “Shelly” Sterling maintains an interest in their business’s real estate portfolio. She was an integral part in the agreement made in 2014 to sell the Los Angeles Clippers to former Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Steve Ballmer for $2 billion. In the wake of the sale, she was given the titles of “Clippers Number One Fan” and “Owner Emeritus.” The Sterlings were married in 1955. She and her husband were No. 15 on the Business Journal’s annual Wealthiest Angelenos list with a net worth of $5.9 billion.
