Murphy is co-founder and chief technology officer at Snap Inc., where he oversees the company’s engineering, product development, and research teams. Murphy co-founded Snap and its signature app, Snapchat, with Evan Spiegel in 2011 while at Stanford University. Snap, a publicly traded company, had a $15.6 billion market cap in April and ended 2022 with more than 750 million monthly active users around the world. Prior to Snapchat’s launch, Murphy was an engineer at Revel Systems, a maker of iPad point-of-sale software products.
