Dr. David R. Nelson is medical director of Barlow Respiratory Hospital. He has served on the hospital medical staff since 1991. A board-certified pulmonologist, he provides clinical management oversight for critically ill patients and the staff caring for them. Dr. Nelson’s expertise in critical care and pulmonary medicine includes the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases of many types and severity. As a hospital leader, Dr. Nelson serves on the Medical Executive Committee, and the Research, Quality Forum, Credentials and Critical Care Committees. Beyond his service to the hospital, he serves as an educator, preparing the next generation of physicians as an associate professor of clinical medicine at UCLA.
