Tetra Tech Snags Pair of Federal Contracts Worth $158M

Pasadena-based engineering, infrastructure and consulting firm Tetra Tech Inc. has secured a pair of federal contracts in recent weeks worth a combined $158 million.
On Nov. 17, Tetra Tech announced it was awarded an $86 million contract to provide information technology support to systems for the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command.

Under the 6.5-year contract, Tetra Tech will provide technology services for the U.S. Space Force’s mission-critical facilities and systems.

“Tetra Tech will use its ‘leading with science’ approach and leverage its federal IT resources and capabilities to support the management of these mission-critical systems,” Tetra Tech Chief Executive Dan Batrack said in the contract announcement.

The Space Force was created three years ago to boost the nation’s military profile in space. As the first new military branch in 73 years, the Space Force aims to bring the space military efforts of all the armed forces branches under one unified command.

Locally, the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo now operates under the aegis of the Space Force, awarding procurement contracts that support the development and deployment of space-based military systems.

On Nov. 29, Tetra Tech announced that the U.S. Agency for International Development awarded the company a $72.5 million five-year contract to increase access to financing for climate-resilient water and sanitation services.

As part of the USAID’s water, sanitation and hygiene finance program, Tetra Tech will work with government and financial institutions, development partners, service providers, and local stakeholders to mobilize the financing required to expand water access and sanitation services in the various countries where the USAID operates. Tetra Tech water resources and infrastructure experts will support water-service providers to improve climate resilience and strengthen their business models.

“Tetra Tech has more than 40 years of experience supporting USAID to expand access to water and sanitation in developing countries,” Batrack said in the announcement. He added the company plans to use its expertise to increase funding for climate-resilient water and sanitation services worldwide.
