In college, Peter Velez was the founding member of the Cal State Long Beach ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals For America) Chapter. Ever since graduating, he has been an advocate for the accounting community with a major focus on students while encouraging them to obtain their CPA. Today Velez, who is an inspections specialist at PCAOB, is also an active board member of the Los Angeles CalCPA Chapter and has played an active role in a number of events. This year, he helped lead the two-day Summer Leadership Program, which assisted nearly 100 Sophomores throughout the LA area in learning more about the profession and how to obtain their CPA licenses.
Velez is also committed to the Los Angeles and Long Beach communities. He is active in attending events at his Alma Mater, CSULB, attending events both for the Beta Alpha Psi chapter as well as the ALPFA Chapter.
