S.L. Leonard & Associates, a project and construction management firm is pleased to announce the elevation of Perla Hernandez Lastra LEED AP, to Principal, and the addition of Megan L. Turner as firm Principal.
Perla has assisted S.L. Leonard’s clients with such diverse projects as a retail plaza in Jordan Downs, a 100-unit affordable housing project in West LA, a multi building campus expansion for a mental health organization and the new headquarters for a major foundation.
Ms. Hernandez Lastra has a Bachelor’s in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Master’s in Engineering Management, both from Cornell University and a strong construction background from her time at one of the largest general contracting firms in the country.
Her experience includes education, healthcare, hospitality, housing and commercial projects. Perla serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach and has been recognized as one of Engineering News Record’s 2018 Top Young Professionals and received Pacific Coast Business Times’ Latino Business Award in 2017.
Megan combines her Bachelor’s in Architecture from Columbia University, City of New York with her California Contractor’s license to bring both vision and practicality to S.L. Leonard’s client’s projects. A sampling of Megan’s assignments includes a 150-unit veterans housing project in West L.A., a performing arts center renovation, a 200-unit affordable housing project in South LA. and a DMV office renovation.
Prior to joining S.L. Leonard & Associates she developed and managed the Southern California operations of a national general contracting firm.
