On July 28, 2021, Mortimer led a decisive victory for Walmart when the court dismissed a data breach class action lawsuit in its entirety and with prejudice in one of the first alleged California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) actions in California. This pivotal win establishes an important precedent for existing and future CCPA litigation. Mortimer has received widespread recognition among her peers, most recently in Law360’s “MVP in Cybersecurity and Privacy” (one of only five lawyers recognized nationwide).
