Covington & Burling LLP
Carolyn Kubota is a nationally acclaimed litigator with extensive first-chair trial experience and a near undefeated record in over 20 trials in state and federal courts. She draws upon her twelve years of experience as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office when representing major domestic and international companies in their most high-stakes investigations and litigation matters.
Among Kubota’s recent notable efforts has been her work co-leading a team of Covington lawyers serving as national litigation counsel for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee in more than 500 cases brought by gymnasts who were abused by Larry Nassar. On December 15, 2021, following two years of mediation, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana approved a settlement that included a $380 million payment to compensate the survivors – primarily funded by insurers, and the dismissal of all related cases pending against the USOPC.
