The Teamsters Local 399 and Hollywood Basic Crafts revealed the terms of the tentative deal struck with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to improve wages and working conditions for their members.
After first announcing on Jan. 28 that the agreement was negotiated, Local 399 released more specific details on Jan. 31 for the new three-year contract that was being sent to members for ratification. If agreed upon, it would include an annual 3% wage increase, an additional $10 per day in meal money, a daily $3 cell phone allowance, the observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a holiday, and 10 additional benefit hours per week for on-call employees.
Additionally, the new agreement will earn members triple time wages after 16 elapsed hours. Also included are new, yet-unspecified penalties for shortened weekend turnarounds, requiring either 54 hours off or additional overtime pay for members. Following an informational meeting on Feb. 6, held by Local 399, membership will vote electronically between Feb. 6 and Feb. 9. The union’s bargaining committee has unanimously recommended ratification.
