En Pointe Technologies Inc. reported first quarter net income of $227,000 (4 cents per share), a solid showing after a net loss of $997,000 (-14 cents per share), over the same period a year earlier. This marks only the third time in the past seven quarters the company has finished in the black.

Revenue for the El Segundo business-to-business technology provider slid 3.9 percent to $75.6 million.

Chief executive Bob Din said in a statement that December was one of the busiest months ever for the company and that revenues from the sales and service sectors of the firm should improve soon.

Shares in En Pointe were down 4 percent (26 cents) to $6.26 and continued to slide another 8.95 percent (56 cents) to $5.70 in after-market trading.
