Yahoo Inc. is discussing buying a stake in major Chinese online commerce site Alibaba.com for up to $1 billion, news reports said Wednesday.
Yahoo is discussing buying 35 percent of Alibaba for $1 billion, Forbes magazine and the Chinese Web site Sina.com said, citing unidentified sources. Sina.com said the two sides would announce an agreement within 24 hours.
