Warner Music Group Corp. said it will offer its music videos on Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox Live service for $1.99 each, creating an additional outlet for the recording label’s content amid declining compact disc sales.

Warner Music, which is based in New York but has the bulk of its operations in Los Angeles, earlier announced partnerships with Walt Disney Co. and NBC Universal to boost online video sales and better compete with Apple Inc.’s iTunes.

Warner, whose artists include Matchbox Twenty and Metallica, said users of the Microsoft online service can start downloading videos this week,

Warner Music shares were up 10 cents, or 1 percent, to $7.71 in mid-morning trading on the Nasdaq.
