2021 Black Business Matters Speaker: Jonathan Hodge

Jonathan Hodge
SVP and Financial Advisor
Affinity Wealth Partners at UBS Wealth Management USA

Encouraging proactive financial planning and open communication

Jonathan brings a love of the markets, a desire to help others and more than 22 years of experience to his work as a wealth manager. He is dedicated to helping his clients pursue their most cherished goals and manage the risks of investing, but most importantly, he encourages families to improve their communication about financial matters. Because he considers himself a coach and therapist for his clients, Jonathan seeks to earn their trust by acting with integrity and always putting their interests first.

Jonathan is motivated by his family legacy, which goes back to St. Martin in the French West Indies. He saw the negative effect that a lack of communication can have on a family's ability to grow and protect wealth. This made him passionate about financial planning and open dialogue within families, and he is particularly focused on solving the Black wealth challenge that exists in the US.

Prior to forming Affinity Wealth Partners, Jonathan and Larry Schnaid were good friends for several years, and dreamed of creating a premier wealth management business. In his role at Affinity, Jonathan seeks to improve outcomes for his clients by managing their capital and helping them make informed decisions about their present, the future, and the legacy they wish to leave. His clients include a range of successful individuals, including business owners and executives, and his emphasis on Black wealth creators leads him to work with entrepreneurs, athletes, and entertainers.

Jonathan became interested in the markets and the economy at a young age.  He began his career as a mortgage-based securities analyst, which appealed to his intellect, but he realized he wanted to have a more direct impact on people's lives. Becoming a wealth advisor enabled him to blend his investment knowledge with his personal passion to help others.
