Sole Source Capital Acquires ISG Technologies
Texas-based ISG Technologies

Santa Monica-based investment firm Sole Source Capital announced July 7 that it will acquire Arlington, Texas-based mobility services provider ISG Technologies.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sole Source Capital owns a portfolio of industrial, materials and energy companies, including those in oil and gas, produce distribution and plastics manufacturing, and is focused on making investments in fragmented subsectors.

The latest acquisition joins ISG Technologies with Sole Source Capital's portfolio company Supply Chain Services, an Oakdale, Minn.-based specialist in automatic identification and data capture. Sole Source Capital acquired Supply Chain Services in 2020.

ISG Technologies works with customers in a range of industries, from warehousing and logistics to retail and entertainment, to outsource their mobile device management operations. In the announcement, Sole Source Capital said the ISG acquisition "adds to Supply Chain Service’s product line and expands its geographic reach into Texas."

“The AIDC industry is benefiting from secular tailwinds driven by the continued focus on integrated supply chains and the growth of smart, connected devices,” said Scott Sussman, chief investment officer at Sole Source Capital. “ISG’s end-to-end service capabilities and commitment to providing bespoke solutions for its customers make it an ideal fit for Supply Chain Services.”

Automatic identification and data capture refers to the methods of automatically identifying objects, collecting data about them, and entering them directly into computer systems, without human involvement.

In April, Sole Source announced that it had purchased two other manufacturers specializing in automatic identification and data capture: Columbia, Md.-based Peak-Ryzex and Littleton, Mass.-based Optical Phusion Inc.

Since acquiring Supply Chain Services, the firm has also picked up Waukesha, Wis.-based Miles Data Technologies and Chanhassen, Minn.-based Coridian Technologies Inc. and Baine, Minn.-based Dasco Label. All three companies work in the automatic identification and data capture space.
