Wasserman Launches Music Division

Westwood-based Wasserman launched Wasserman Music on April 21 following the acquisition of Paradigm Talent Agency’s North American live music assets.

Financial terms of the acquisition, which closed this quarter, were not disclosed.

Wasserman’s acquisition of Paradigm’s music division, which was announced March 17, adds several major artists to the firm’s roster, including Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran and Louis Tomlinson.

The music division will be led by Casey Wasserman, chairman and chief executive of the firm, as well as an existing Wasserman executive team and a group of executive agents.

Marty Diamond, Jonathan Levine, Jackie Nalpant, Sam Hunt, Corrie Martin, Lee Anderson and Matt Rodriguez will oversee day-to-day business, while Tom Windish, Joe Rosenberg and Lori Feldman will provide business development, operational and marketing support.

“This is a dynamic opportunity to create new collaborations between the family of brands and talent that Wasserman currently represents in a meaningful and impactful way, and I am excited to get started,” Wasserman said in a press release.

The launch will add 130 new employees to the marketing and management firm as it looks to expand into live entertainment in 2021 and 2022, the company said.

To ensure diversity in hiring, Wasserman Music said it will work with Oakland-based civil rights advocacy group Color of Change. Wasserman Music also signed onto the organization’s #ChangeMusic roadmap, which commits the firm to investing in Black talent, increasing transparency and promoting advocacy for diversity and inclusion.

Founded in 2002 as Wasserman Media Group, the firm has an extensive presence in sports representation. The firm rebranded as Wasserman in 2016 and began branching into lifestyle and culture.

In 2020, the firm acquired Chicago-based hockey agency Acme World Sports and Lithuanian basketball agency BBaltics.
