THE LATEST: Tracy Hernandez is founding chief executive of the Los Angeles County Business Federation, which formed in 2008 to lobby policymakers at the state and local levels and supports political candidates it deems business-friendly. BizFed serves more than 170 business organizations, representing 390,000 businesses in the county. The organization launched an initiative in 2018 aimed at taking a more active role in development projects in the county and pushing for business-friendly policies.
BACKGROUND: Hernandez sits on the board of officers for the BizFed Institute and founded the BizFed Political Action Committee. She is owner and president of advisory company Impower Group. Hernandez worked in various capacities in the newspaper industry for 20 years.
WORTH NOTING: Hernandez was the first female publisher at the Los Angeles Daily News.
