THE LATEST: Suffolk opened a Smart Lab at its L.A. office in April after debuting the feature in New York and San Francisco. The interactive space includes data walls with predictive analytics, a virtual reality cave where clients can view buildings before construction begins, and livestreams of existing projects. The company says Smart Labs can help developers remain on time and on budget.
BACKGROUND: Donohue joined Suffolk in March to lead the company’s Los Angeles operations and provide strategic direction. Suffolk’s current Southern California projects include Park 5th, the Tommie and Thompson hotels, and Sunset La Cienega. Donohue has spent nearly 25 years in the industry and previously worked with Turner Construction in several roles, including vice president and general manager, business development manager and division manager. He holds an architecture degree from USC.
WORTH NOTING: Donohue is on the board of Kidsave and has helped to raise more than $400,000 for the charity.
