$6.4 million for Gordon-Levitt’s HitRecord; Blizzard offers new streaming options; potential $200 million raise by Clutter

HitRecord.Org Finds $6.4 Million

Glendale-based HitRecord.Org Inc., an open-source online production company, announced a $6.35 million Series A raise Jan. 31. Axios reports HitRecord, founded in 2010 and helmed by actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, existed for nearly a decade without raising outside capital. The round was led by San Francisco-based Javelin Venture Partners, featuring participation from Crosslink Capital and Norwood, Mass.-based Advancit Capital.

Clutter Contemplates New Cash

According to TechCrunch, Culver City-based storage-on-demand firm Clutter Inc. is raising a funding round purportedly worth up to $250 million and led by SoftBank Capital. Clutter’s last raise was $64 million in 2017 and counted Venice-based real estate investment firm Fifth Wall Ventures Management as one of its funders. Clutter is one of Fifth Wall’s 25 current portfolio companies.

Blizzard’s Overwatch League Offers New Streaming Options

Activision Blizzard Inc.’s “Overwatch” e-sports league begins its second season in two weeks and Blizzard wants to offer fans a new way to watch the action. For $15, subscribers to a Blizzard all-access pass can watch a Twitch Interactive Inc. live match feed and switch between the first-person view of pro players. Blizzard and Twitch offer a free 48-hour trial, but will air the broadcast on ABC, ESPN and Disney networks as well.
