Chief Executive, California
Everett Orrick is chief executive of BBVA Compass’ California operations, leading small-business, middle-market, corporate, wealth management and real estate finance operations throughout the state, including eight commercial-loan production offices and 62 branches. BBVA Compass is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BBVA Group, the second-largest bank in Spain. Orrick’s teams also provide Southern California companies access to BBVA Bancomer, the largest bank in Mexico. The finance executive has 30 years of experience in banking, with a resume that includes Union Bank, Wachovia Bank, Comerica Bank and Mellon Business Credit. He also serves as treasurer for LINC Housing, a nonprofit developer of affordable housing solutions.
What was your proudest moment?
Moments really. Professionally, I feel equally blessed every time another wonderful financial services professional puts their career on the line and decides to join our fast growing team, or when a business owner elects to trust us to become his or her banking partner.

California State University, Sacramento (undergraduate and graduate school)
What is your next project?
We just opened our 8th Commercial Banking Office in San Jose, and will continue to rapidly build out BBVA Compass throughout California.
Who is your hero?
My wife of 36 years, Leighann.
What do you like best about Los Angeles?
Los Angeles is the most dynamic, diverse and vibrant business community I have ever worked in. So many great companies start and grow here. I first began working in Los Angeles in 1985 and have always found our city to be full of incredible opportunity.
