The Grammy Awards are coming back to Los Angeles in 2019 after next year’s ceremony in New York, the Recording Academy announced last week.

The academy, which oversees the music industry event, has signed a four-year agreement with AEG for downtown’s Staples Center to host the Grammy telecast after its 60th anniversary show, which is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden in January. The academy has said the temporary move to the Big Apple was meant to bolster the organization’s national profile.

CBS will continue to broadcast the show live on both coasts. The network has a commitment to air the show through 2026.

“We are thrilled that Staples Center will continue to be home to the Grammy awards,” AEG Chief Executive Dan Beckerman said in a statement.

The annual awards show has been held at Staples Center 17 out of the last 18 years. The Grammys bring an estimated $82 million in economic benefit to Los Angeles each year of the event, according to the academy.
