BBC to Show Special “Plant Earth II” Episodes on Snapchat

The BBC’s nature show “Planet Earth II” will debut a series of six mini-shows on Snapchat on Feb. 17, reports The Verge. The Snapchat episodes will cover the same topics from the televised series, such as islands, mountains, jungles, deserts, grasslands, and cities, but will use exclusive footage not seen on the TV show.

Snap’s Research and Development Division Remains Top Secret

While Facebook, Google, and Microsoft disclose lots of information about their research teams and priorities, Snap is secretive, reports Venture Beat. The company has been staffing up the division, however, and LinkedIn data suggests that more than 30 people populate Snap’s research group, almost all located in Los Angeles.

Stem’s Royalty Splitting Service Taking Off

Stem began business a year ago and is quickly becoming a player in the fast-growing music distribution and royalty management business, reports the New York Times. The company has attracted a clientele of young artists who operate independently, yet tend to collaborate frequently with other acts, some of them music stars.
