Live Nation’s Kayne West Tour Canceled

Live Nation announced on Monday that it was canceling the remaining 21 shows in rapper Kanye West’s “Saint Pablo Tour.”

The cancellation came without explanation in a two-sentence press release, which also said that ticket purchasers would receive a full refund. A spokeswoman for Live Nation declined to comment.

In recent days West has been behaving erratically at his concerts, ranting about his political beliefs, including making a late endorsement of President-Elect Donald Trump at a concert in San Jose on Thursday. West said he had not voted in the presidential election.

At a concert in Sacramento on Saturday, West reportedly showed up 90 minutes late, performed two songs, criticized a number of public figures including Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, and hip-hop artist Jay-Z, among others, before walking off stage. Live Nation issued full refunds to attendees of that show.

Though the “Saint Pablo Tour” cancellation was headline grabbing, it’s not likely to have much of an impact on Live Nation’s revenue. The concert series was already partially completed and represents a small portion of the 26,000 events the company manages each year.
