THE MONEY: One of 11 Hyatt hotel heirs; oversees family-funded Pritzker Group’s private equity and venture capital investments with brother Jay “J.B.” Pritzker. Wealth increased slightly thanks to more direct Pritzker Group investments and appreciation of those assets.

THE BUZZ: Pritzker Group Private Capital scooped up series of companies closer to its Windy City home last summer, including aerosol manufacturer PLZ Aeroscience and food and beverage packaging producer LBP Manufacturing, both of Chicago, and Westmont, Ill., environmental remediation firm Entact. Pritzker Group Venture Capital invested in New York digital health firm AiCure’s Series A and follow-on round for New York mattress startup Casper, among slew of others. Fundraised for Mitt Romney in 2012; held fundraiser at Beverly Hills compound in December for then-Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio. A Los Angeles County Museum of Art board member, also a triathlon devotee who did Half Ironman in Dublin, Ireland, last summer. Grandfather A.N. Pritzker established family fortune buying distressed real estate during Great Depression and selling later at large profit. Sons built Marmon Group, which bought Hyatt House hotel near Los Angeles International Airport in 1957 and grew it to global chain. Later sold it to Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway in stages for more than $8 billion.
