Walt Disney Merges Maker with Competing Department

Walt Disney Co. has swept its subsidiary Maker Studios into a new area within its digital consumer products and interactive media division, reports the Business Journal. The reorganization was done in order to merge competing digital departments within Disney.

Snap Acquires Ad Tech Firm

Snap Inc. has acquired adverting technology company Flite for an undisclosed amount, according to sources reported by Recode. Flite’s ad products are primarily focused on content creation, such as 360-degree video ads and vertical video ads for smartphones.

Faraday Future Attacks Journalists on Twitter

Beleaguered electric car manufacturer Faraday Future attacked several journalist on Twitter for reporting negative information about the company, reports Jalopnik. The company has reportedly faced a serious cash shortage and a string of executive departures.

Appetize Raises $20 Million

Point-of-sale system manufacturer Appetize has raised $20 million in a round led by private equity firm Shamrock Capital Advisors and Oak View Group, reports Sport Techie. Appetize will use the funds to expand its team to more than 150 employees in Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta by mid-2017.
