Before the ink was dry on Digital First Media’s purchase of the Orange County Register, 71 people were laid off yesterday, including its editor, Rob Curley, according to the Los Angeles Times. The O.C. Register and Riverside Press-Enterprise will now be run by the newly formed Southern California News Group, which also operates the Los Angeles Daily News.
