NetSol, Stamps.com Among Week’s Big Movers

The Los Angeles Business Journal’s index of the largest local public companies rose for the week. The weighted LABJ index rose 1.3 percent to close at 223, with gainers outpacing losers 96 to 56. Six companies closed the week unchanged.

Among stocks trading above a dollar, NetSol Technologies Inc. of Calabasas, which makes software for the financial service industries, was one of the week’s leading gainers. Shares rose 25 percent to close at $5.14 on Friday after the company posted strong quarterly earnings.

El Segundo’s Stamps.com, a provider of print-at-home postage, also had a good week. Shares rose 20 percent to close at $56.88 after the company posted strong quarterly earnings.

Global Eagle Entertainment Inc., a Los Angeles provider of content and Wi-Fi service to airlines, was among the week’s losing stocks. Shares fell 14 percent to close the week at $13.56 after the company announced it had priced a private offering.
