UC Tuition Hikes Pass Despite Protests

While their decision was barely discernible over the chants of protesting students, the University of California regents voted 14-7 on Thursday to approve tuition increases of as much as 5 percent for each of the next five years, the Los Angeles Times reports. Ongoing protests of the decision led to the cancellation of UCLA’s annual bonfire rally for Saturday’s football game against USC.
