Nikki Finke is back to writing show business news, the trade reporter wrote on a newly minted website Thursday, practically promising to offend those in the industry she deems worthy of her wrath.

Finke, known for her snarky commentary and insider news, last year left the site she founded, Deadline Hollywood, after a public war of words with owner Jay Penske. She was quietly waiting out her non-compete clause for seven months, she said.

Now, she’s ready to compete with Deadline Hollywood and the other Hollywood trade publications with her new site, NikkiFinke.com, she said on the site’s inaugural post. She even threw some of her trademark jabs at her former site and other competitors in the announcement.

Finke said her tip line is open and hinted that she’s trying to raise money for the venture as well. As for the tone and material of the new site, Finke told readers to “expect the unexpected.”

“My new website is not for the easily offended or ridiculously naïve,” she wrote.
