Typically for Valentine’s Day, we stay home to avoid all the hoopla and my boyfriend cooks a five-course meal with wine pairings. He’s not a chef, but if he opened a restaurant, I think people would line up. It’s a Friday night, so perhaps a nightcap on the Westside of town.

I’m being surprised by my Valentine this year. It might be dinner out or a relaxing couples massage. So who knows what the night will entail, but I can’t wait to find out.

That is my anniversary with my girlfriend and I always cook dinner for her that night. I go out of my way to try a crazy recipe and make it look all special. Valentine’s Day was the night that she knew I was serious, because I went out of my way to cook a gourmet meal and I don’t cook that much.

After I deal with the crazy L.A. traffic that always occurs on Valentine’s Day, I am going to attempt to watch the entire season two of “House of Cards” on Netflix with friends. Love that Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday. Perfect binge-watching day.
