Egg Prices Likely to Rise with Cage-Free Law

Prices for wholesale eggs in California are expected to rise 10 percent to 40 percent in the New Year, the Los Angeles Times reports. Proposition 2, enacted in 2008 to end the confinement of farm animals in cramped cages and crates, will go into effect on Jan.1 and will make cage-free eggs the norm.
