Teledyne Technologies Inc. on Wednesday said that it signed a contract with Boeing Co. for avionics data and an information management system for updated versions of the 737, 747 and 777 jetliners.

The Thousand Oaks company, which makes scientific instrumentation, digital imaging products, and defense electronics systems, said the contract covers aircraft data acquisition systems for several planes. Teledyne has supplied versions of these instruments to older Boeing aircraft.

Teledyne’s El Segundo-based Teledyne Controls unit will be fulfilling the single-source contract, terms of which were not disclosed.

“The trust and confidence that Boeing has shown in awarding Teledyne this contract confirms our position as the leading provider of aircraft data acquisition and information management systems,” Chief Executive Robert Mehrabian said in a statement.

Shares closed up 17 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $89.59 on the New York Stock Exchange.
