BUZZ: Currently heads up Tornante Co., which invests in both new media (Web video firm Vuguru) and old (co-owner of Topps trading cards). Officially threw hat back into the feature film ring by announcing a multiyear deal with Universal Pictures. Tornante will produce with Universal distributing, though no one’s revealed what first picture under this agreement will be. Could have something to do with Garbage Pail Kids, a cartoony trading card property popular in the mid-’80s Tornante got in its Topps acquisition. Vuguru signed deal with Yahoo for distribution of studio’s scripted Web series. Eisner also committed Democrat. Supported Howard Berman during former San Fernando Valley congressman’s 2012 election slugfest; gave $10,000 to Berman-affiliated Super PAC.
