BUZZ: Has solidified status as largest shareholder of Public Storage as father, 78-year-old B. Wayne Hughes, continues transferring shares to her and her children. Spent most of adult life in management positions at Public Storage before leaving. In recent years, has focused on running private real estate firm started by brother B. Wayne Hughes Jr. American Commercial Equities Management owns more than 60 retail and mixed-use properties across Los Angeles County and California, as well as Honolulu. Portfolio estimated to be worth as much as $600 million. In 2010, Gustavson elected to board of trustees at alma mater USC. Gustavson’s husband, Eric, is an actor and producer whose credits include “Will & Grace.” The couple have two children and live in the Escondido Beach section of Malibu. The Gustavsons are involved in the HollyRod Foundation that helps people with Parkinson’s disease and other medical disorders. She also supports K-12 schools in Malibu and Westlake Village.
