Earnings Drive Big Local Stock Swings

Shares of Carson aerospace components maker Ducommun Inc. jumped 22 percent in morning trading Tuesday after last night reporting better-than-expected second quarter earnings, although revenue was lower than analysts expected.

Los Angeles professional and technical services provider Aecom Technology Corp. reported its second quarter this morning, and even though it missed by 1 cent Wall Street expectations for earnings per share, its stock was up 18 percent.

Meanwhile, shares of Sylmar contractor Tutor Perini Corp., which last night reported lower-than-expected second quarter profit and cut its full-year forecast, were down 16 percent.
