Crown Media Holdings Inc. on Monday said that Andrew Rooke has been appointed chief financial officer.

The Studio City parent of the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel cable networks said Rooke will oversee the company’s financial functions and implementation of its strategic business model. He also will hold the title of executive vice president.

Rooke was CFO at Twentieth Television from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, he served as vice president of finance at MySpace.com and Fox Interactive Media between 2005 to 2007 and vice president of corporate audit of Fox Entertainment Group from 2003 through 2005. He earlier was vice president of finance and controller at Warner Bros.

“Andy brings superior financial and industry experience to Crown Media, and we look forward to welcoming him as a critical member of our senior management team,” Chief Executive Bill Abbott said in a statement.

Comptroller Michael Harmon has been serving as interim chief financial officer since August after Brian Stewart resigned.

Shares were up 14 cents, or 5 percent, to $2.85 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.
