The National Academy of Engineering, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit promoting engineering education, has elected Richard Flagan and Anthony Leonard to its membership. Flagan is the Irma and Ross McCollum–William H. Corcoran professor of chemical engineering and Leonard is the Theodore von Karman professor of aeronautics, emeritus at Caltech.

XpanD, a Hollywood-based maker of glasses for viewing 3-D content, has named Jonathan Ross president of content and distribution. Previously, Ross was assistant general sales manager for theatrical distribution at Fox Searchlight Pictures, a Century City movie studio.
