Aon Consulting, a Chicago-based risk management and insurance brokerage firm, has named Kirby Bosley senior vice president and health benefits practice leader in its downtown L.A. office. Previously, Bosley was west division group health practice leader at Watson Wyatt Worldwide Inc., an Arlington, Va.-based consulting firm.

Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors, an Agoura Hills firm that provides financial and administrative services to the jewelry industry, has named Lisa Ketrick senior associate. Previously, Ketrick was senior associate and subcontractor at AccuVal Associates Inc., a Calabasas valuation, advisory and asset management company.

EDUCATION

The Los Angeles Board of Education has named James Sohn chief facilities executive for Los Angeles Unified School District. Previously, Sohn was interim chief facilities executive at the district.

ENGINEERING

Parsons, a Pasadena-based engineering and construction firm, has named Brent F. Harvey executive vice president and global business development manager in its Pasadena office. Previously, Harvey was vice president and sector manager at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

ENTERTAINMENT

Ovation, a Santa Monica-based arts and culture television channel, has named Ellen Schned senior vice president of distribution and Sonia Tower vice president of community relations. Previously, Schned was senior vice president of affiliate marketing and distribution at CBS College Sports. Tower was an organizer for President Obama’s Arts Policy Committee.

FishBowl Worldwide Media, a West L.A. film, TV, and digital media developer, has named Susan Brooks general counsel and executive vice president of business affairs. Previously, Brooks was worldwide head of television business affairs at William Morris Agency, a New York-based talent agency.

HOSPITALITY

Hard Rock Cafe International, an Orlando, Fla.-based restaurant, casino and hotel operator, has named Kristi Schaffter senior sales and marketing manager for the Hard Rock Café locations in Hollywood and Universal CityWalk. Previously, Schaffter was director of sales and marketing at Kress, a Hollywood nightclub.

INSURANCE

Symetra Life Insurance Co., a Bellevue, Wash.-based insurance company, has named Thomas E. Bittner Western region vice president in its L.A. office. Previously, Bittner was Western region vice president of sales at Aetna Inc., a Hartford, Conn.-based insurance company.

LAW

Lax & Stevens, a downtown L.A. construction law firm, has named Michelle Carpenter associate. Previously, Carpenter was a litigation manager at the firm.

NON-PROFIT

The National Kidney Foundation, a New York-based non-profit organization, has named Chris A. Johnson president of its Southern California and Southern Nevada region. Johnson is based in the foundation’s Sherman Oaks office. Previously, Johnson was regional chief executive at the American Red Cross.

The J. Paul Getty Foundation, an L.A. non-profit supporting the visual arts, has named Deborah Marrow interim chief executive. Marrow is director of the Getty Foundation, an L.A. grant-provider for the arts.

Mohr Partners Inc., a Dallas-based real estate services firm, has named Rammy Rasmussen managing partner in its Torrance office. Previously, Rasmussen was senior vice president at Grubb & Ellis Co., a Santa Ana-based real estate services firm.

RETAIL

Performance Team, a Santa Fe Springs-based third-party logistics company, has named Steve Belardi director of operations. Previously, Belardi was vice president of logistics at Sport Chalet, a La Canada Flintridge-based sporting goods retailer.

TECHNOLOGY

American LegalNet Inc., an Encino tech firm serving the legal industry, has named Francesco Fabbrocino chief technology officer. Previously, Fabbrocino was chief technology officer at Baseline Studio Systems, a Culver City-based tech firm serving the film and TV industries.

Canon Communications LLC, a West L.A. producer of trade publications, events and electronic media, has named Michael P. Behringer chief operating officer and Fred Gysi chief financial officer. Behringer was previously vice chairman of the company and will retain that title. Previously, Gysi was chief financial officer at Creativity Inc., a Van Nuys retail company.
