Green Hasson & Janks LLP, a West L.A. accounting and tax services firm, has named Sherri Gastelum director of business development and Kari Schott director of marketing. Previously, Gastelum was director of business development at RSM McGladrey, a Bloomington, Minn.-based accounting and tax services firm. Schott was national marketing director at KPMG LLP, a New York-based accounting and tax services firm.


Torrey Pines Bank, a San Diego-based bank, has named Paul Donaldson division president at its downtown L.A. office. Previously, Donaldson was regional manager and senior vice president of Orange County and L.A. at California Bank & Trust, a San Diego-based bank.


Mount St. Mary’s College has named Mary Molle to an endowed chair in nursing. She will work at its Brentwood and downtown L.A. campuses. Previously, Molle was professor of nursing emeritus at California State University, San Bernardino.


Juma Entertainment LLC, an L.A.-based reality TV and lifestyle programming production company, has promoted Melissa Calheno to vice president of operations. The company has also named Dionne Clifton development associate and Alaina Killoch manager of development. Previously, Calheno was head of operations at the company. Clifton was an intern in alternative development at NBC Universal. Killoch was an assistant in alternative series and specials at ABC Television.

Maya Entertainment Group Inc., a Culver City-based motion picture production and distribution company, has named Gina Gilardi Portman vice president of marketing, home entertainment division, and David B. Rand executive vice president, home entertainment division. Previously, Portman was director of advertising and marketing at Echo Bridge Entertainment LLC, a Beverly Hills media distribution company. Rand was senior vice president of sales at Image Entertainment Inc., a Chatsworth media distribution company.


The city of L.A.’s Fire and Police Pension has elected Dean Hansell president. Hansell is a partner in the downtown L.A. office of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, a New York-based law firm.


HemaCare Corp., a Van Nuys-based company that collects and distributes blood products to hospitals and research organizations, has promoted Lisa Bacerra to chief financial officer and Anna Stock to chief operating officer. Previously, Bacerra was corporate controller and Stock was vice president of operations at the company.

Mary Franz has been named executive director of Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center, a program to help doctors use electronic health records, at L.A. Care Health Plan, a downtown L.A.-based public health organization. Previously, Franz was chief operating officer at Connecture Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of online services to insurance companies.

The California Department of Managed Care has named Dave Meadows to its financial solvency standards board. Meadows is vice president of California health programs at Health Net of California Inc., a Woodland Hills-based health insurance company.


Transamerica Retirement Services, the downtown L.A.-based marketing unit of Transamerica Financial Life Insurance Co., has named Charmaine Hughes vice president of business development. Previously, Hughes was vice president and national director of emerging business retirement services at M&I Institutional Trust Services, a Milwaukee-based retirement plan administration company.


Gordon & Rees LLP, a San Francisco-based law firm, has named Mollie Burks-Thomas partner at its downtown L.A. office. Previously, Burks-Thomas was senior counsel at the firm.


The California Council on Economic Education, a non-profit advocate for the financial literacy of California students, has named Laurie King director of development and strategic planning in its West L.A. office. Previously, King was a senior writer at Capital Guardian Trust Co., a downtown L.A.-based investment services firm.

The National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles, an L.A. social service organization, has named Amy Straus and Ruth Zeitzew co-presidents. Straus is a sitcom writer and producer. Zeitzew was a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Levine Communications Office, an L.A. public relations firm, has named Joni Rubin account executive. Previously, Rubin was head of downtown public relations for the Los Angeles Film Festival.


SouthWest Water Co., a downtown L.A.-based water utility, has promoted Du Nguyen to vice president of information technology and J.R. Reavis to vice president of water technologies. Previously, Nguyen was director of information technology and Reavis was national water quality director at the company.
