Westlake Village-based First California Bank has promoted Edmond R. Sahakian to executive vice president. Previously, Sahakian was senior vice president and manager of the retail banking division at the bank.


Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business has named John G. Shearer entrepreneur-in-residence. Shearer is founder of Powercast Inc., a Pittsburgh maker of wireless power systems.

The Southern California Institute of Architecture in downtown Los Angeles has named Jamie Bennett chief operating officer. Previously, Bennett was a director at Pasadena Angels, a venture capital fund.


City of Hope, a Duarte cancer hospital and research center, has named Patricia Kassab vice president of quality and patient safety. Previously, Kassab was an assistant vice president at St. Joseph Health System in Orange.

Ritter Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Century City developer of gastrointestinal therapies, has named Howard Foyt executive vice president of development and chief medical officer.
