Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach has named Brian Robinett vice president of mortgage lending operations. Previously, Robinett was managing director and chief operating officer at Countrywide/Bank of America.

Investment bank B. Riley & Co. LLC has named Dave Kang a senior research analyst in the firm’s West L.A. office. Previously, Kang was a senior research analyst at Roth Capital Partners, a Newport Beach-based investment bank.

First Bank has promoted Carmen Martin to branch manager in the bank’s South Beverly Hills office. Previously, Martin was a customer service manager.

CONSTRUCTION

Shangri-La Construction, a Century City-based general contractor, has named Christopher Carr as senior project manager and business development officer. Previously, Carr was a senior project manager at Pinnacle Contracting Corp., a Woodland Hills construction firm.

CONSULTING

Protiviti Inc., a business advisory firm, has promoted Golreez Jalali to manager and Jan Miyoda to senior manager in the firm’s downtown L.A. office. Previously, Jalali was a senior consultant and Miyoda was a manager.

EDUCATION

Pamela McQuesten, vice president of information resources at Occidental College in Eagle Rock has been named to the board of the national Institute for Technology in Liberal Education, an educational non-profit group based at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

The UCLA School of Law has named Jonathan Handel an adjunct professor. Handel is of counsel at TroyGould, a Century City law firm.

Kaplan Inc., an educational services company based in downtown Los Angeles, has named Anthony Bailey Latin America division president in its downtown L.A. office. Previously, Bailey was president of Kaplan’s international test preparatory operations.

Parsons Corp., a Pasadena-based engineering and construction services firm, has named Thomas L. Roell group executive for operations and risk, Thomas E. Barron president of its Parsons Transportation Group Inc. subsidiary and Todd K. Wager president of its Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group Inc. subsidiary. Previously, Roell was president of Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group, Barron was executive vice president of Parsons Transportation Group and Wager was executive vice president of Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group.

ENTERTAINMENT

Sony Pictures Entertainment in Culver City has named John Fukunaga executive vice president, legal affairs. Previously, Fukunaga was senior vice president, internal distribution, for Sony Pictures Television.

The Independent Film & Television Alliance, a Westwood-based non-profit organization promoting independent film and TV producers, has re-elected Lloyd Kaufman to a two-year term as chairman. Kaufman is chief executive of New York-based Troma Entertainment Inc.
