Aecom Technology Corp. said Monday that it has been awarded a task order worth $33 million to repair the remote Eareckson Air Force Base airfield on Shemya Island, near the end of Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

The Los Angeles provider of professional, technical and management support services to military and civilian clients said the job is part of its "indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity" contract with the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency to provide worldwide design-build and construction services.

Aecom shares were up 79 cents, or 3 percent, to $25.30 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
