Rochelle Newman-Carrasco has joined the Beverly Hills office of marketing and advertising agency Walton Isaacson as chief Hispanic marketing strategist. Previously, Newman-Carrasco was chief executive of Enlace Communications, a marketing agency targeting the Hispanic market.


BANKING & FINANCE

Wells Fargo & Co. has named Shabnam Ebrahimi district manager for the Beverly Hills Corridor region of the Wells Fargo Los Angeles Community Bank. Previously, Ebrahimi was district manager for the Wells Fargo Golden Gate market in San Francisco.


Jeff J. Glowacki has been appointed managing director and senior resident officer in the downtown L.A. office of Bessemer Trust, a New York-based wealth management and investment advisory firm. Previously, Glowacki was a senior vice president at Comerica Bank.


Beverly Hills-headquartered City National Bank has appointed Mary Helmich senior vice president and manager of its preferred banking wealth management program. Helmich was previously a Bank of America regional manager in charge of its Greater Los Angeles-Inland Valley region.


Moelis & Co., a New York-based investment bank, has named Kevin B. Scheetz a managing director in technology at its Century City office. Previously, Scheetz was an adviser in the semiconductors and electronics investment unit for Merrill Lynch.


Manhattan Beach-based Kinecta Federal Credit Union has named Kenneth Stauffer vice president, enterprise project and process office. Previously, Stauffer had been serving as a consultant at Kinecta.


EDUCATION

Jim Stengel has joined the UCLA Anderson School of Management as an adjunct marketing professor. Stengel is president of marketing consultancy Jim Stengel LLC.


ENTERTAINMENT

Angstrom Lighting, a Hollywood firm that provides lighting and special effects to the entertainment industry, has named Johnny Cho director of online media. Cho was previously director of communications projects at the non-profit Milken Family Foundation.


GOVERNMENT

The California Commission for Economic Development has appointed Dr. Ron D. Ford to the Entertainment and Tourism Advisory Committee, a state panel that works to boost the two sectors in California. Ford is associate dean of executive programs at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management.


The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has named Nick Sramek president. Sramek is a senior project leader in system engineering for Aerospace Corp. in El Segundo.


HEALTH CARE

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center has named Tamra Kaplan chief operating officer. Kaplan was previously an executive director at the MemorialCare Medical Centers, headquartered in Fountain Valley.


LAW

Downtown L.A. law firm Khorrami Pollard & Abir LLP has named Abi Gnanadesigan and Neda Sargordan associates. Previously, Gnanadesigan was a law clerk at the firm. Sargordan was an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps fellow at the Public Law Center in Santa Ana.


LICENSING

Opus 1 Music Library, a music licensing business in Studio City, has named Shauna Krikorian head of film licensing and Stacey Palm head of TV licensing. Previously, Krikorian was director of film licensing film at 615 Music, a Nashville, Tenn., media company. Palm was vice president of film and TV music at Famous Music Publishing, a New York-based music publisher.


NON-PROFIT

The Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed), a business advocacy group based in downtown Los Angeles, has announced three officer appointments to its Advocacy Committee: Thomas Flintoft and John Kelsall have been named co-vice chairs, and Holly Schroeder chair. Flintoft is a business lobbyist at Rose & Kindel. Kelsall is chief executive of the Greater Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. Schroeder is chief executive of the Greater Los Angeles Ventura Chapter of the Building Industry Association.


Ray Pearl has been appointed executive director of the California Housing Consortium, a housing advocacy organization based in Agoura Hills. Pearl was previously vice president of forward planning and government relations at Irvine developer SunCal Cos.


REAL ESTATE

Kennedy Hills Auction Group, a unit of Beverly Hills real estate services and investment firm, has named Jeffrey Condon vice president of business development. Condon was previously a senior consultant at Zetabid, a residential real estate marketing company.


TECHNOLOGY

Optical Research Associates, a Pasadena optical design and engineering firm, has promoted Claude Thomas Walker to chief technology officer. Walker will continue to hold the title of vice president of software development.

KUDOS

Alan Dickson, a partner in the downtown L.A. office Holland & Knight LLP, has been honored with the Charles A. Dana Distinguished Service Award by the National Contract Management Association. The award is given annually in recognition of extended and distinguished service to the national contracting organization based in Ashburn, Va.


The Los Angeles chapter of professional organization Commercial Real Estate Women has recognized Susan Fowler McNally, Ruth Gilliland, S. Gail Goldberg and Carmela Ma as "Women at the Top" for 25 years or more of service in the local real estate industry. Fowler McNally is a partner at Gilchrist & Rutter PC, a Santa Monica law firm. Gilliland is a vice president of corporate real estate for Warner Bros. Entertainment. Goldberg is planning director for the city of Los Angeles. Ma is chief executive of CJM Associates Inc., a Beverly Hills real estate brokerage.


Advisor Today, the publication of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, has named Bryan Krupin one of its 2009 Four Under Forty honorees. Every year, the magazine selects a quartet of successful insurance advisors from across the country to feature in profiles. Krupin is managing partner at the Gilbert-Krupin insurance advisory firm in Beverly Hills.
