Northrop Grumman Corp. said Monday that the U.S. Department of the Interior awarded it a contract worth up to $56 million to maintain and support the information technology infrastructure for the Bureau of Land Management.

Los Angeles-based Northrop is the prime contractor to service computers and related equipment at the bureau’s 200 offices. The contract’s estimated value is based upon full performance of all anticipated task orders for the one base year and six one-year extensions.

“This demonstrates Northrop Grumman’s growing capability and experience in the IT infrastructure market,” said Neal Regan, Northrop’s Technical Services’ program manager for the contract.

Northrop shares were up $1.39, or 3 percent, to $48.50 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
