Mandalay Media Inc. said Wednesday that Bruce Stein, its chief executive, has left the company “to pursue other opportunities.”

The Century City development-stage new media company did not announce an interim CEO, but a spokesman said the remaining current leadership team, including co-chairman Peter Guber and Ian Aaron, CEO of the company’s Twistbox subsidiary, remains in place.

“I greatly appreciate the work Bruce has done for the past year at Mandalay Media,” said Guber in a statement. “Bruce is a dynamic person, someone I’ve known for over 20 years, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Mandalay last January acquired Twistbox, a producer and publisher of mobile content. In October it completed $4.5 million in private equity financing and acquired AMV Holding Ltd., a provider of direct-to-consumer mobile Internet content and services in Europe.

Mandalay’s shares are listed at $1.40 on the over-the-counter Bulletin Board.
