Walnut city officials, led by Mayor Joaquin Lim, plan to meet with Industry city officials Monday to discuss a proposed NFL stadium, officials said.

Lim has threatened to sue the city of Industry if it approves an environmental report later this month that would allow construction of the stadium to go forward.

Industry Mayor David Perez said he hopes an agreement can be reached, and that Lim is willing to negotiate. Lim fears such the the proposed 75,000-seat stadium and entertainment complex would disrupt the “equilibrium” in Walnut, a bedroom community of nearly 30,000 people.
