Zenith National Insurance Corp. said Friday that Leon Panetta resigned from its board to become director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
Panetta had served as a member of Woodland Hills workers compensation insurer’s audit committee and its nominating and corporate governance committee. Panetta is a former chief of staff to President Clinton and a former Democratic congressman from California.
As a replacement, Zenith named Jerome L. Coben, a partner with Zeughauser Group, which provides consulting services to the legal profession. For 25 years until his retirement at the end of 2008, Coben was a founding partner and head of the Los Angeles office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Coben will serve on the audit committee and the health care committee.
