Looks Like Another Year of Staycations for Many

Phones inside Grace’s Travel and Tours once rang off the hook with callers eager to arrange far-flung family vacations to places like Canc n and Egypt or relaxing 10-day cruises to the Hawaiian Islands.

But these days, phones in the Arleta shop are quiet.

With the economy still on the mat and job anxiety peaking, most Americans are thinking twice about summer travel. That has the travel industry anticipating a summer sequel to last year’s recession-driven stay-at-home summer. Stay tuned for Staycation2 – another summer of spending vacations at home, renting movies and taking dips in public pools.
