IGA Signs In-Game Advertising Deal with Activision

Video game advertising company IGA Worldwide said Tuesday it signed an exclusive deal with Activision Blizzard Inc. to deliver in-game ads for the Santa Monica game developer’s products for the Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 3 console.

The first Activision game to feature dynamic IGA ads will be “Guitar Hero World Tour,” which goes on sale at the end of this month.

Dynamic in-game ads can change over time and even be targeted based on a player’s location. They are considered a valuable way to get the attention of young men and teens not reached by other media.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

New York-based IGA also has an exclusive deal with Activision competitor Electronic Arts Inc. to deliver ads for PS3 games.
