Vice President Gets Interactive With Promotions Career

While at college, Anne Moldovan had aspirations to work in journalism, specifically business journalism. But after graduation, she found job opportunities scarce and found herself moving into the world of marketing.

Her career choice would eventually lead her to the downtown L.A. office of Eprize, a Detroit-based interactive promotions and advertising firm. Now as vice president, Moldovan heads the development of new client relationships and interactive promotion campaigning, and generating strategies for Fortune 100 companies.

“It’s really rewarding,” she said. “Just imagine every day is different and you have to be creative and think of great ideas. It’s very different and I’m learning so much.”

While studying journalism at the University of Denver, Moldovan helped pay her tuition by working at a customer service call center for Citi Bank. That experience provided her skills that she still uses. “I worked weekends and graveyard shifts so I learned how to deal with customers,” she said.

Moldovan said her biggest challenge at Eprize is doing international work for Microsoft. “It’s been a good interactive learning experience because the laws are different in every country.”

Currently she is working on a travel promotion for NapaStyle.com, which includes a three-day weekend trip for two to Napa Valley with Chef Michael Chiarello.

“I think my best advice is to always put clients first and in order to make it a career you have to make other people successful,” said Moldovan. She also keeps in mind advice that her father gave to her when she was a child: “Be sharp and alert. Have wisdom, common sense and good judgment.”

Moldovan is single and lives in Playa del Rey. In her free time, she visits her boyfriend, Campbell Kennedy, in Berkeley, and enjoys dining out and reading. As far as favorites go, Moldovan singles out Gjelina restaurant in Venice. She calls “Let’s Get Real,” by Mahan Khalsa her sales bible and recommends it to everyone working in sales. For fun, she is reading “Twilight” by Stephenie Meyer.
