Herbalife Ltd. said Thursday that the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission completed its investigation of a former employee and the SEC will not seek any enforcement action against the company.

The investigation was initiated in November and centered on the timing of certain securities transactions made by an executive and the personal use of products by its independent distributors, Herbalife said. The executive was not named.

The health supplement company said it voluntarily disclosed the investigation in November and said Wednesday that it has cooperated fully with the SEC during the investigation.

Shares in Herbalife were up 1.9 percent to $38.79 in early trading Thursday.
